Gurgaon-based agrochemical company Dhanuka Agritech has signed a letter of intent with Spain-based Kimitec to develop and market biological products for enhancing crop health. These products would be derived from natural sources and natural molecules. The companies are also considering building a research and development facility in India, according to a statement from Dhanuka Agritech.
Biologicals are a sustainable product category offering crop protection, soil health, and plant nutrition derived from natural sources. Depending on the needs, these products are used alone or in combination with traditional chemical products.
Dhanuka Agritech expects an upsurge in the demand for biological products in India, in line with global trends. Kimitec is a biotech firm and the founder of the MAAVi Innovation Centre, Europe's largest biotech innovation hub dedicated to natural molecules.
With a global footprint extending across 100 countries and more, Kimitec creates and markets biological products in collaboration with MNCs across the B2C and B2B spaces. The Dhanuka Group has already partnered with seven agrochemical companies from the US, Japan, and Europe to introduce India's latest technology and products.
Dhanuka Agritech is focusing on technology advancement and precision farming. It has invested in agri-drone manufacturer IoTechWorld Avigation and farm-to-fork startup KisanKonnect Safe Food. Dhanuka Agricteh has four manufacturing units in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Jammu & Kashmir.
