Cairo-based entrepreneurship think tank Entlaq has recently entered into a strategic partnership with agritech start-up Ninjacart.

The collaboration is geared towards identifying and supporting promising farm-to-fork agricultural start-ups in Egypt. Ninjacart will provide these start-ups with its advanced tech platform, supply chain management solutions, and specialised advisory services.

The primary focus of the alliance lies in enhancing supply chain efficiency through advanced technology and establishing direct connections between farmers and markets in Egypt.

The partnership also highlights the implementation of data-driven agriculture to ensure quality assurance and certification. Additionally, it aims to foster financial inclusion throughout the agricultural value chain, expand marketplaces, and reduce waste, as outlined in a statement by Ninjacart.

Ninjacart's expansion into Egypt, part of its global initiative, NinjaVentures, underscores the company's commitment to identifying start-ups in Egypt that align with its business model.

The goal is to drive non-linear growth in the Egyptian agricultural sector, prioritising innovation, sustainability, and efficiency. NinjaVentures is a global initiative dedicated to extending technological expertise, knowledge, and skills to emerging start-ups worldwide, aiming to revolutionise agricultural supply chains.

Kartheeswaran KK, co-founder and CEO of Ninjacart, expressed excitement about leveraging Ninjacart's technological prowess to empower Egyptian start-ups. By collaborating with start-ups globally, he emphasised the company's mission to build a trusted, efficient, and inclusive agritrade network.

Omar Rezk, co-founder and managing director of strategy and consulting at Entlaq, stated that the collaboration with Ninjacart marks a transformative step for Egypt's agritech ecosystem. He believes in the potential of technology to reshape agriculture and expressed excitement about the opportunities the partnership opens for start-ups, contributing significantly to the thriving agritech landscape.

With the agriculture sector employing 29.2 percent of the workforce and contributing 11.3–13.6 percent to the GDP, approximately EGP 400 billion, Entlaq envisions catalysing Egypt's position as a regional innovation hub, contributing to economic growth, and achieving Egypt's 2030 Vision.
