Adani Energy Solutions recently scored a major win by acquiring Halvad Transmission, a game-changing renewable energy transmission network project in Gujarat.

This strategic move materialised through a competitive bidding process, with Adani Energy emerging triumphant against formidable contenders, as revealed in a statement released on Wednesday.

Halvad Transmission, a pivotal component of India's national grid, was originally established by PFC Consulting with the ambitious goal of transmitting seven gigawatts (GW) of electricity from the state-of-the-art Khavda solar energy park. Notably, the park boasts a generation capacity of 30 GW, making it a significant force in India's renewable energy landscape.

Adani Energy's master plan revolves around the commissioning of the 765-kilovolt Halvad transmission line. Stretching 301 kilometres (187 miles), this monumental project is slated for completion within 24 months.

The company has committed to the long-term responsibility of operating and maintaining the transmission line for over 35 years, ensuring a sustainable and reliable energy link for the region.

This strategic acquisition marks a milestone for Adani Energy, taking its cumulative transmission network, including both installed and upcoming lines, to 20,518 circuit kilometres (12,750 miles), according to the company's statement.
