Sterlite Power has successfully secured a transmission project that will facilitate the evacuation of 8 GW of renewable energy to Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. The project, known as the Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part-1-Bikaner Complex): Part-B Transmission project, marks Sterlite Power's third Green Energy Corridor (GEC) project in Rajasthan.

Pratik Agarwal, Managing Director of Sterlite Power, emphasised the critical role of transmission in India's energy transition success. The project aims to enable the flow of approximately 8,000 MW of renewable energy from the renewable-rich Bikaner region to key load centres in Rajasthan, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Sterlite Power will develop the project on a Build, Own, Operate, Transfer (BOOT) basis for a period of 35 years. The selection process involved tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB), reflecting the company's commitment to providing innovative and competitive solutions in the power transmission sector.

Sterlite Power, as a private sector power transmission infrastructure developer, has a robust portfolio that includes 32 completed, sold, and under-construction projects.

These projects cover approximately 15,350 circuit kilometres of transmission lines across India and Brazil, showcasing the company's significant contribution to strengthening the power transmission infrastructure.
