Italian company Bonfiglioli Riduttori S.p.A., with a focus on the power transmission sector, announced on Tuesday that it has invested Rs 100 crore to establish an assembly facility in Pune.

The company's Indian unit, Bonfiglioli Transmissions, has invested in an assembly line covering 42,500 square metres and is targeting revenue growth of over 15 percent in FY24. The goal for the current fiscal year is to achieve revenue of Rs 1650 crore, an increase from Rs 1428 crore in the previous year.

According to a statement, nearly 80 percent of the newly inaugurated plant, featuring advanced and real-time smart assembly operations, is powered by solar energy.

The facility aims to better serve clients in the discrete manufacturing and process sectors in western India.

"The western region represents a high-growth market, and we are expanding our assembly facility in Pune to meet the needs of the evolving market," stated Kennady V. Kaippally, Country Manager of Bonfiglioli Transmissions. The company intends to cater to businesses in various sectors, including food, packaging, cement, steel, pharmaceuticals, textiles, material handling, sugar, power generation, paper, and water treatment.
