In a significant move towards promoting sustainable electric mobility, a leading oil marketing PSU inaugurated a battery-swapping facility at its retail outlet in New Town, located on the eastern outskirts of the city. The collaborative effort with Sun Mobility marks a notable stride in making electric mobility solutions more accessible across the city.
The adoption of battery-swapping technology for two- and three-wheeler electric vehicles (EVs) has proven to be transformative throughout India. The director of marketing at the oil marketing PSU, V Satish Kumar, emphasised the potential of battery-swapping technology in advancing sustainable electric mobility solutions. He expressed confidence that this facility would play a crucial role in driving EV adoption and leading the energy transition in eastern India.
Looking ahead, the oil marketing PSU, in partnership with Sun Mobility, plans to roll out additional battery-swapping facilities at its retail outlets in the coming months. This expansion aims to offer a convenient and efficient solution for drivers to swiftly exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones, contributing to faster turnaround times and enhancing the overall convenience of electric vehicles.
