The Carbon Markets Association of India (CMAI) has joined forces with the Voluntary Carbon Market Integrity Initiative (VCMI) to assist stakeholders in carbon credit trading. The partnership, formed with London-based VCMI, aims to guide industry players through the entire process, from project registration to transparent trading of carbon credits, according to a CMAI statement.

As the agreement outlines, CMAI and VCMI will work together to promote a conducive environment for high-integrity voluntary carbon markets (VCMs) that attract private investment aligned with national and sub-national climate and socioeconomic policy priorities.

The collaboration will focus on supporting stakeholders in expanding carbon finance activities across key sectors in India. VCMI, an international non-profit organisation aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement, is dedicated to enabling high-integrity voluntary carbon markets.

CMAI, a strategic alliance of industry experts specialising in carbon offset solutions, offers services such as policy research and advocacy, innovative interventions, capacity building, community initiatives, and partnerships.
