BluSmart, a ride-sharing company based in India, has achieved a major milestone by becoming the first mobility company in the country to receive carbon credit accreditation from Verra, a global non-profit corporation. The company's electric vehicle (EV) fleet has helped significantly reduce CO2 emissions from February 2020 to December 2021, which led to the accreditation.

BluSmart is a company that aims to promote large-scale decarbonisation in the mobility sector. The company has recently received recognition for its efforts in completing over 300 million kilometres by using all-electric vehicles, providing more than 9.5 million fully electric trips. The Fair Climate Fund India, a crucial consultant that played a significant role in enabling BluSmart to achieve this recognition in an exceptionally short timeframe, estimated the carbon emissions for this project.

According to a reliable source within the company, BluSmart, the first Indian mobility company to receive carbon credit certification, has upheld its commitment to promote large-scale decarbonisation in the mobility sector. The company has pledged to create a business that benefits both people and the planet. BluSmart currently operates a fleet of more than 5,000 EVs in two of India's most populous urban megacities, Delhi NCR and Bengaluru.
