An Agriculture Accelerator Fund has been set, FM said, “The Fund will aim at bringing innovative and affordable solutions for challenges faced by farmers. It will also bring in modern technologies to transform agricultural practices, increase productivity and profitability.”

Further, computerisation of 63,000 primary agricultural credit soceities with an investment of Rs 2516 crore will also be taken.

Artificial intelligence focus of the budget also hits on point for the agriculture sector. The budget mentions that three centers of excellence for artificial intelligence will be installed where big tech companies will collaborate with the government for embedding artificial intelligence in agriculture and health sector.

Referring to 2023 being announced as the International Year of Millets, she added that support will be provided for post-harvest value addition, enhancing domestic consumption, and for branding millet products nationally and internationally. 

Besides, she added, states will be encouraged to do natural, zero-budget and organic farming, modern-day agriculture, value addition and management. She adds, “Over the next three years, we will facilitate 1 crore farmers to adopt natural farming. For this, 10,000 Bio- Input Resource Centres will be set up, creating a national- level distributed micro- fertilizer and pesticide manufacturing network.”
