The inauguration of Uber Green in Bengaluru took place at the Bengaluru Palace, where Karnataka Information Technology Minister Priyank Kharge flagged off the first Uber Green vehicles on the sidelines of the Bengaluru Tech Summit.
According to Uber, the service is currently available in various parts of the city, predominantly covering central Bengaluru, with plans to expand its reach to more areas in the near future. Commencing immediately, riders across many parts of Bengaluru will have the Uber Green option visible on their app, offering them the choice to opt for a more sustainable mode of transportation.
Karnataka Information Technology Minister Priyank Kharge expressed the importance of collective responsibility in improving air quality in Bengaluru and commended Uber's commitment to a greener summit.
