To treat anaemia and malnutrition among schoolchildren, the Telangana government would serve ragi java and millet porridge
This academic year, students in government schools can anticipate significant changes. When schools resume on June 12, students will be greeted by "ragi java" drinks, according to senior officials. They will also get a 250 ml bowl of millet porridge three times per week. It seeks to cure anemia and malnutrition in the target population.
The Telangana State government wants to stop students from arriving at government and local body schools hungry by providing Ragi Java.
Telangana's kindergarten through tenth grade students currently receive midday meals six days a week in their schools, thus this will be an extra benefit to their wellbeing.
The administration is also looking into the possibility of incorporating millets into the mid-day meal programme. High school students might receive the millets once or twice a week.
