Samsung has launched innovative design thinking workshops in select schools across the country. This initiative is part of Samsung's 'Solve for Tomorrow' program, aiming to cultivate problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity among students, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 for quality education.
The one-day workshop introduces students to the Human-Centered Design Thinking framework, empowering them to tackle real-world problems. This framework emphasizes empathy, ideation, prototyping, and testing to create user-centric solutions.
SP Chun, Corporate Vice President of Samsung Southwest Asia, stated, "The workshops aim to empower the next generation and foster an ecosystem of innovation. The pilot program in 10 schools this year focuses on motivating students to execute projects that involve problem-solving, collaboration, and creative thinking."
The workshop guides students through the five steps of the Design Thinking process: empathy, definition, ideation, prototyping, and testing. By engaging in role-play, interviews, brainstorming sessions, and prototype development, students learn to approach problems with a user-centric mindset.
'Solve for Tomorrow,' launched in the US in 2010 and now active in 63 countries, reflects Samsung Electronics' global CSR vision of empowering future leaders through education.
