Piaggio Vehicles Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of the Italian automaker Piaggio & C. SpA, has achieved sales of approximately 26,000 units of its electric three-wheelers since their introduction in 2019. According to Amit Sagar, the company's Executive Vice President for Commercial Vehicles, they had retailed around 12,000 units as of last year.
Piaggio Vehicles unveiled their first three-wheeler passenger electric vehicle, the Ape E-city FX NE Max, in Tamil Nadu. Priced at Rs 3.46 lakh, this passenger vehicle is an addition to their existing range of cargo vehicles. Amit Sagar emphasized that they were not just introducing a product but also a new commuting approach, featuring a driving range of 145 kilometers on a single charge and an impressively low running cost of just 0.50 paise per kilometer.
Sagar stated that the company had sold approximately 26,000 units throughout India, with last year's sales reaching around 12,000 units. He also mentioned that Piaggio Vehicles had established an 11-dealership network across Tamil Nadu following the launch.
