Crystal Crop Protection Limited, in partnership with the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS), has announced a new scholarship program for female students pursuing higher education in agriculture. The program, launched in honor of Ankur Aggarwal's late mother Kanak Aggarwal, will provide financial aid and mentorship opportunities to 84 students annually.

The scholarships aim to address the underrepresentation of women in agriculture and promote gender parity in the sector. Crystal Crop Protection Limited recognizes the challenges faced by women in this field and seeks to empower them through education and career development.

“At Crystal Crop, we hold in high regard the pivotal role that women play in India’s agricultural landscape,” said Ankur Aggarwal, Managing Director. “This scholarship program is a tribute to my late mother’s passion for girls’ education and our commitment to nurturing the next generation of female leaders in agriculture.”

In addition to financial assistance, recipients will have access to college mentorship programs, networking events, and career development workshops. The program will commence in July/August 2024, and applications are now open.

Dr. Himanshu Pathak, Secretary, DARE & Director General, ICAR, added, "We believe this initiative will encourage young women to pursue diverse educational paths in agricultural studies, ultimately benefiting the agricultural sector as a whole."

Applications will be accepted for a limited time, followed by a multi-stage selection process including application review, interviews, and document submission.
