Mercom India is all set to host the Mercom Renewables Summit, formerly known as the Mercom India Solar Summit, later this month. Mercom India is a credible source for thorough information and distinctive insights on India's renewable energy market. A significant renewable energy conference, which will delve into various aspects of renewable energy, will be held at the Hyatt Regency in New Delhi on April 26 and 27.

In addition to meeting the short-term targets, which include: increasing renewables capacity to 500 GW by 2030, meeting 50% of energy requirements from renewables, reducing cumulative emissions by one billion tonnes by 2030, and reducing emissions intensity of India's gross domestic product (GDP) by 45% by 2030, the country's vision is to achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2070.

The two-day summit will bring together more than 300 business executives, policymakers, and other important stakeholders to discuss, forge agreements on, and find solutions to crucial problems facing renewables. The summit has a history of serving as a venue where the sector gathers to formulate policy and close deals. 

The first startup pitch competition for cleantech businesses will be launched by Mercom India during the summit, showcasing the most cutting-edge young enterprises in India's green energy sector. Young, creative businesses will have the chance to present their solutions to important stakeholders during the competition, who are becoming more and more interested in working with regional business owners. 

The distinguished list of speakers include Lalit Bohra, Joint Secretary, MNRE (The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy), Ivan Saha, CEO, Vikram Solar, Puneet Gupta, Chief Technology Officer Adani Solar and others. 

The top decision-makers in the sector, including those from renewable energy firms, implementation agencies, and the government, will talk about assessment of the renewable energy sector's aims, progress, and next actions in India; Solutions and policy drivers are needed to handle the market's current issues; a long-term risk reduction plan for the renewable energy sector and Increasing domestic solar production and tackling supply chain issues. The discussions will explore if the following technologies will see rising demand in the upcoming year: wind and solar, storing energy or green hydrogen. 
What it will take for India to top the list of countries where investors may finance solar and sustainable energy; approaches to putting R&D first in the cleantech sector and detailed examination of homegrown startups and renewable technology. 

A session on Green Hydrogen – The Critical Piece in the Decarbonization Puzzle, will discuss challenges that the market has to overcome for India to become a major hub of hydrogen. The panel will consist of Dipesh Pherwani, a scientist from MNRE, an RE expert, Chintan Shah, Shaji John, Head of Sales & BD, South Asia, Middle East & Africa, Ohmium and Kapil Maheshwari, ED and CEO, Welspun New Energy. 

Mercom will provide its most recent research findings and insights as well as an in-depth analysis of the rapidly growing clean energy market in India.
