The Lucknow Swachhata Abhiyan (LSA), a subsidiary of Re Sustainability Limited, has recently signed a significant agreement with the Lucknow Municipal Corporation to transform waste management practices in the city. The initiative, launched by Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh, aims to implement cutting-edge waste solutions.

The agreement includes services such as door-to-door collection of segregated waste using a smart EV fleet, establishing and operating Material Recovery Facility (MRF), Transfer Stations, and careful handling of wet and dry waste transportation to designated processing sites. All operations will be monitored 24/7 in real-time from a Command and Control Centre, with a gradual implementation over the next six months.

In drainage management, LSA plans systematic cleaning, with drains up to 45 cm maintained weekly and those exceeding 45 cm up to 1 metre thoroughly cleaned every 15 days. The initiative also involves Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) endeavors to enhance public awareness of efficient waste management practices.

CEO Masood Mallick highlighted the partnership's dedication to a cleaner and greener environment, aiming for 100 percent segregation in every household. The project, involving 8500 individuals, emphasises inclusivity, women's empowerment, and the integration of informal groups.

The technology-driven approach includes a zero-emission EV fleet, GPS and IoT-enabled monitoring, RFID-based control systems, a 24/7 citizen complaint redressal system, IEC programmes, and a performance monitoring system.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed commitment to environmental sustainability, creating a cleaner, greener future for Lucknow. The collaboration aligns with the larger vision of Swachh Bharat and aims to set an example of responsible waste management and environmental consciousness.

Commissioner Indrajith Singh praised the project's alignment with the Swachh Bharat initiative, expecting it to elevate the city's cleanliness and sustainability standards. Mayor Sushma Kharakwal looks forward to promoting source segregation and enhancing citizen participation in sustainability initiatives.

The partnership signifies a significant step towards a cleaner, more sustainable Lucknow, with LSA eager to contribute to the city's ongoing transformation. Re Sustainability Limited, a KKR-backed company, brings its expertise to support this initiative, offering comprehensive environmental management services across various categories and a growing global footprint.
