Battery pack manufacturer Log9 and electric vehicle maker TORK Motors jointly announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing interoperable charging infrastructure in India. This collaboration is a key initiative under the Bharat Charge Alliance (BCA), a platform fostering cooperation between industry players in the light electric vehicle (LEV) sector.

As members of BCA, Log9 and TORK Motors have joined forces to enable customers of both brands to utilise chargers and charging networks based on BCA's LEV DC interoperable standard. This move is part of a broader effort to establish a safer and more cohesive ecosystem for the LEV industry in the country.

Kapil Shelke, Founder and CEO of TORK Motors, emphasised that the partnership is a significant stride towards promoting interoperability among original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and ancillary companies in the Indian electric vehicle (EV) market. He highlighted the commitment to building a comprehensive charging infrastructure that transcends manufacturers and benefits EV users nationwide.

Log9's Chief Operating Officer, Kartik Hajela, stressed the need for standardisation in low-voltage fast charging platforms. He noted that Log9, being a leader in fast charging for last-mile commercial EV platforms, has been a staunch advocate for interoperable fast charge protocols between OEMs in this category due to its vast scalability potential.

Log9 specifically mentioned the introduction of Type 6-Bharat LEV fast charging across its new battery platforms for two- and three-wheelers. Type-6 is poised to become the low-voltage fast charge standard in the next generation of EVs, aligning with the broader industry push for standardised charging solutions to enhance convenience and accessibility for electric vehicle users.
