India is charting a course towards becoming a leading force in green shipbuilding by 2030, with Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) forging a pivotal memorandum of understanding (MoU) with SeaTech Solutions International, Shift Energy, and ABS for the construction of its first electric tug, the E-VOLT 50.

This innovative vessel, crafted on the design expertise of SeaTech Solutions International, is poised to revolutionise India's tugboat industry, promising substantial reductions in carbon emissions and a notable uptick in operational efficiency.

Cmdre PR Hari, IN (Retd), Chairman and Managing Director of GRSE, underscored the transformative impact of the E-VOLT 50, labelling it a significant leap towards a cleaner and more sustainable future for the maritime sector.
