The India H2 Alliance, a coalition focused on establishing a hydrogen value chain and economy in India, announced the addition of seven new industry members to its expanding membership. The new members include Torrent Power, Synergen Projects, Godawari Power and Ispat, Technip Energies, HSBC Bank, Bureau Veritas, and Newtrace.

This expansion follows the submission of two crucial reports by the India Hydrogen Alliance (IH2A) to the Government of India: the $5 billion National Green Hydrogen Hub Economic Viability and Development Plan and the $50 billion Hydrogen Equipment and Exports Report.

IH2A is actively collaborating with state governments to facilitate the development of large-scale green hydrogen projects in partnership with the private sector. The alliance aims to accelerate the commercialization of hydrogen in the next 3–5 years.

Commenting on their membership, Sanjeev Shah, Director of Synergen Projects, expressed the company's commitment to a pioneering approach in building the new energy ecosystem and leading in green hydrogen within IH2A.

Nisarg Shah, Vice President of Business Development at Torrent Power, highlighted the significance of green hydrogen in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors and expressed enthusiasm for collaborating with IH2A and the government to expedite hydrogen commercialisation.

Abhishek Agrawal, Executive Director of Godawari Power and Ispat, emphasised the intention to work closely with IH2A and partner organisations to accelerate the decarbonization of the Indian metals and steel sector.

Jillian Evanko, President and CEO of Chart Industries and Founding Member of IH2A, welcomed the new members, underscoring the importance of collaboration in advancing the hydrogen agenda in India.

The newly joined members, including Torrent Power, Synergen Projects, and Godawari Power & Ispat, will join existing steering group members, such as Chart Industries, Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL), JSW Group, Hero Future Energies, and BP. The IH2A Steering Group is supported by the IH2A Secretariat, managed by consulting firm FTI Consulting.
