Goldi Solar, based in Gujarat, has announced its commitment to install rooftop solar power systems at the residences of the 41 workers recently rescued from the Silkyara tunnel collapse site in Uttarakhand.

Following a successful multi-agency rescue operation that spanned nearly 17 days, all 41 workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel were safely evacuated on Tuesday evening. In response to this, Goldi Solar has pledged to provide support to the affected families by equipping their homes with rooftop solar installations.

In a statement, Goldi Solar Founder and Managing Director, Ishver Dholakiya, emphasised that this initiative represents a significant step towards empowering the rescued workers and their families with access to sustainable energy, fostering hope for a brighter future. The company, rooted in a commitment to assisting underprivileged communities, will fully cover the costs associated with this endeavour.

Headquartered in Surat, Gujarat, Goldi Solar operates two solar module and panel manufacturing plants with a combined capacity of 3,000 megawatts (MW) in Pipodara and Navsari districts. As part of its expansion plans, the company is actively investing Rs 5,000 crore to double its module manufacturing capacity to 6,000 MW by 2026, in addition to establishing a cell manufacturing unit.

This initiative reflects Goldi Solar's dedication not only to advancing sustainable energy solutions but also to contributing to the well-being of communities, particularly those facing challenges and adversity.
