According to a senior official speaking at the second meeting of the G20 Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group on Monday in Gandhinagar, holistic management of a country's water resources is a requirement for its development.

Water resources require cooperation, according to Debashree Mukherjee, Special Secretary in the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti. She was speaking to delegates from 13 international organisations, nine invitee countries, and 19 G20 countries.
According to Mukherjee, India is committed to enhancing bilateral cooperation in the development and management of water resources through the exchange of technical know-how, best practises, application of cutting-edge equipment and technology, and case studies of successful water sector interventions. Presentations were made by Indonesia, Brazil, Argentina, Canada, China, the European Union, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Mexico, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the United States, Denmark, Singapore, Spain, Oman, and the Netherlands at the event.
  Organisations like Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), International Solar Alliance (ISA), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) also showcased their best practices on water resources management.
The presentations covered a variety of topics, such as "Integrated and Sustainable Use of Water Resources/Ecosystem Management," "Waterbody Restoration/River Rejuvenation," "Rainwater Management," "Groundwater Management," "Water Efficiency Approach with Adaptation to Climate Change," and "Drought/ Flood Management."

The attendees visited the exposition stands set up by organisations affiliated with the Ministry of Jal Shakti to view various subjects after the session. Atal Jal, Swachh Bharat Mission, Jal Jeevan Mission, Namami Gange, Jal Shakti Abhiyan, National Water Mission, etc. were among the quality initiatives represented by these stalls. The G20 representatives then went to Adalaj Vav and the Sabarmati Riverfront.
