To be built on a 100-acre site, the plant will mark the entry of Ather into Maharashtra and will contribute significantly to its capacity in the EV and charging infrastructure segment
The third plant of Ather Energy, a manufacturer of electric vehicles, will come up in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. An agreement flagging off the project is expected to be signed soon.
The factory will be constructed over 100 acres in phases and will be situated near Bidkin town, Aurangabad. Ather Energy will invest Rs 1,000 crore in the factory.
Ather’s other two plants are located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu: one for assembly and the other for batteries. In a strategic move, Hero MotoCorp recently acquired a 2.2 percent stake in Ather Energy, with an investment of Rs 124 crore, demonstrating its confidence in Ather's future.
The company, headquartered in Bengaluru, is involved in the design, production, maintenance, and software development of electric vehicles and related infrastructure. In addition, it manages systems for the distribution, storage, and use of electricity as well as provides several ancillary services. In FY24, Ather Energy reported revenue of Rs 1,753.8 crore.
