In a significant step towards consolidating its dominant presence in renewable energy space, Adani Group's flagship renewable energy complex in Khavda, Gujarat, has successfully activated its first wind power unit. This development has boosted the sprawling project's live capacity to 2.25 GW.

The activated capacity of the mega renewables complex, touted to be the world's largest, is made up of solar power except for the just unveiled wind power plant. Adani Green, the entity behind the ambitious project, boasts a combined online capacity of 11.2GW, including wind and solar installations across its broader portfolio.

Looking forward, Adani Green aims to achieve a staggering 50GW of renewable energy production by the year 2030. The turbines employed at Khavda, each boasting a capacity of 5.2MW, are hailed as the largest of their kind in India and have been manufactured by Adani New Industries.

Upon completion, the Khavda facility is slated to incorporate 4GW of wind energy and 26 GW of solar power. Adani Green estimates that this capacity will be sufficient to energise approximately 16.1 million households.
