Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has accomplished a significant milestone within a year of commencing work on the Khavda Renewable Energy (RE) park. The company initiated the development by establishing basic infrastructure, including roads and connectivity, and transforming the challenging terrain of the Rann of Kutch into a habitable space for its 8,000-strong workforce.

AGEL has ambitious plans to develop a 30 GW renewable energy capacity at the Khavda RE park, with expectations for operationalisation within the next five years. Once completed, the Khavda RE Park is poised to become the largest renewable energy installation globally. The energy generated from this park is projected to power approximately 16.1 million homes annually.

Benefiting from proven expertise in large-scale renewable projects, a robust supply chain network, and technological capabilities, AGEL is strategically positioned to construct this record-setting giga-scale plant. The company views this as unparalleled in the world's clean energy sector.

The Khavda region boasts one of the nation's best wind and solar resources, making it an ideal location for large-scale renewable energy development. AGEL conducted extensive studies and implemented innovative solutions to expedite the plant's development while simultaneously supporting the establishment of an indigenous and sustainable supply chain.

Chairman of Adani Group, Mr. Gautam Adani, stated, "Adani Green Energy is creating one of the world's most extensive renewable energy ecosystems for solar and wind." He emphasised AGEL's commitment to setting global benchmarks and redefining standards for giga-scale renewable energy projects through bold and innovative initiatives like the Khavda RE plant.

This accomplishment aligns with India's role in shaping global discussions on a sustainable energy future. AGEL remains committed to facilitating the transition to affordable, reliable, and clean energy. The company's operational portfolio, exceeding 9 GW across 12 states, reflects its dedication to India's ambitious goals of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030 and carbon neutrality.

AGEL's focus on leveraging technology to reduce the Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE) aligns with its goal of enabling the widespread adoption of affordable, clean energy. The company's existing portfolio is certified as 'water positive for more than 200 MW capacity plants,''single-use plastic free,' and 'zero waste-to-landfill,' reinforcing its commitment to sustainable growth.
